As a child, you may have experienced certain events that aren’t necessarily outstanding or easy to remember as an adult. But say you happen to smell lavender as you walk by a flower shop. You immediately get a rush of memories that you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise. Scents are an important part of our memories. Without even having to try to remember, a certain scent can trigger a visual memory.

According to About.com, the olfactory nerve is near the amygdala, which is the part of the brain where we experience our emotional memories. That same nerve is also near the hippocampus, the section of the brain where we make associations. Scents create memories and having pleasant scents surround you in your home, dorm, or office would be ideal in making additional lovely memories.

We want to make sure your future memories are filled with great, delicious scents. CandleWarmers are the perfect way to ensure that your comfortable environment will be smelling wonderfully.

Is there a particular scents that bring back childhood memories for you?
