At Candle Warmers Etc., we are committed to supporting organizations that help people live more productive and enriched lives. As such, Candle Warmers Etc. is proud to stand with NAMI to help raise awareness, support and education about mental health. Candle Warmers Etc. has been partnered with NAMI since 2010 and believe, like NAMI, that there is no health without mental health.
We are all aware that mental illness is often a hidden disease that plagues millions of Americans. Many of us at Candle Warmers Etc., if not each of us, have been affected by mental health. We have seen our friends and family members struggle with the realities of mental illness and we are thankful that the stigma of mental illness is being overcome and those that need help are receiving it. We are thankful that NAMI is at the forefront of turning the tide on this stigma and we applaud the educational programs it provides and NAMI’s avocation of increased public policy and resources for those with mental illness.
While our primary business at Candle Warmers Etc. is manufacturing and selling candles and electric candle warmers, Candle Warmers Etc. focuses it’s charitable resources to support NAMI. Our founder and CEO, Bart Kennington, has been involved with NAMI for many years and is currently the President of NAMI Utah. Additionally each year since 2010 Candle Warmers Etc. associates join thousands of people across the nation as part of NAMI Walks to raise awareness about mental illness, increase community education, reach out to new families and individuals living with mental illness, and support local NAMI affiliates in building a larger NAMI community.
As we have done each May for the past 6 years as part of Mental Health Awareness Month, Candle Warmers Etc. supports NAMI by donating a percentage of our retail sales. We hope that you will join us in supporting NAMI any way you can. Gather a team to walk at a NAMI Walk in your community. If possible purchase a candle or candle warmer from us and use it as a reminder each time it’s used of your support to the end of the stigma of mental illness.
